Indiana Amateur: Grubnich goes wire-to-wire

Rising Indiana Hoosiers golfer Nicholas Grubnich fired rounds of 69-69-70-72 to win by three shots

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (June 13, 2014) -- Rising Indiana Hoosiers golfer Nicholas Grubnich fired rounds of 69-69-70-72 to win by three shots at the 2014 Indiana Amateur Championship at Purgatory Golf Club. Leading from the start, Grubnich grew and then held on to his lead for his first ever state amateur title. David Mills shot 71-70-70-72 and finished alone in second place in what was ultimately a two-horse race. McCormick Clouser took solo third place after shooting 75-70-72-72 and was a shot better than Chad Phillips and Sean Rowen, who tied for fourth place.
