Marc Hammer with the title. Hammer had managed to hold of hard-charging Argentina native
Juan Ignacio Noba in the third round to maintain a one-shot lead, and it became a one-shot victory.
Hammer had opened with a round of 1-under 71 at Highland Park Country Club, but climbed to the top of the leaderboard with his second-round 65. It’s where he got ahead of Noba, who logged back-to-back rounds of 71.
Noba had a third-round 65 while Hammer fell to 71 to reach his winning total of 10 under. Even though Noba was second in the overall race, he won the Argentine Youth Championship, which was played simultaneously.
Spain’s Jorge Maicas, the first-round leader, and Colombia’s Jose Mario Vega tied for third at 8 under. Canadian Josh Whalen was fifth with his 5-under total.
In the women’s division, Valentina Rossi won the title at 7 under while Maggie Simmermacher was runner-up at 2 under.
