Garrett Boe gets redemption at the Fresno City Amateur Championship

Boe, senior at Cal State Fullerton, narrowly missed securing the title in 2020 after an intense playoff

Garrett Boe, a senior at California State University, Fullerton, shot 10-under 206, following his rounds of 66-74-66 to register a two-shot win at the 97th Fresno City Amateur Championship at Riverside Golf Course in Fresno, Calif.

Boe started the final round at 4-under par, just one stroke behind Tyler Ashman, a senior at Chico State. Boe's solid performance, marked by a bogey-free 6-under 66 and an eagle on the par-5 No. 6, propelled him to claim the trophy.

Jackson Parrish posted scores of 72-68-68 to secure a runner-up position at 8-under par. Meanwhile, Ashman, who led after 36 holes, concluded the tournament at 5-under with rounds of 68-71-72.

Boe had previously secured a runner-up position, narrowly missing out on victory in a playoff during the 2020 edition of the tournament.

Boe recently earned an Honorable Mention by The Big West after contributing to all four first-place Titan finishes as a team. The senior averaged 71.50 strokes this season through 30 rounds. Boe came within one stroke of tying his career-best tournament score (205) after shooting a 7-under par 206 at the Nick Watney Invitational (Sept. 25-26, 2023).

The tournament saw participation from 124 golfers of which 38 made the 36-hole cut.
