Adam Forgey was two shots behind with three holes to play Friday at Tennessee Grasslands Golf & Country Club, but a brilliant late charge and a composed playoff performance earned him the Tennessee State Open title.
The 37-year-old from Crossville, Tenn., carded rounds of 67-69-67 for a 13-under 203 total, matching amateur Seth Smith before defeating him on the first playoff hole to claim the championship.
