The 82nd Arizona Open Championship is underway at Papago Golf Course, and two Chandler teenagers have staked early claims in a 156-player field chasing one of the Southwest's most prestigious titles.
Ethan Butters, who has given a verbal commitment to join Arizona State in the fall of 2027, and Owen Greenough both posted 5-under 65s to share third place, two strokes behind leader Trevor Lewis. The UNLV graduate from Las Vegas opened with a 7-under 63 to lead the 54-hole stroke play championship.
