Former champion Lee Porter made an early statement at the Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship, opening with a 7-under 64 to take a commanding four-shot lead at Waynesville Inn.
Porter, of Pinehurst, NC, separated himself from the field with the only score better than 3-under in the opening round. The 2024 champion will enter the second round with a sizeable cushion as he looks to add another Carolinas Senior Amateur title.
