Andrew van der Knaap runs away with Prince's Grant Amateur

Winning by 12 shots at Prince's Grant Golf Club was Andrew van der Knaap over Philip Kruse and Rupert Kaminski

STANGER, South Africa — Andrew van der Knaap picked up his first national win of the year, doing so in runaway fashion at the Prince's Grant Amateur. Thanks in part to his second and third rounds, where he posted 68 and 65 at Prince's Grant Golf Club, van der Knaap captured the title by 12 shots over Philip Kruse and Rupert Kaminski. This year's Northern Amateur Open winner Teaghan Gauche was the opening-round leader at 67, but slowly faded back with 72-74-75 in the final three rounds. Still, he took fourth place at even-par 288. Recent Boland Amateur Open winner Tristen Strydom placed ninth, working his way back from 79 in the first round to go two-under his final 54 holes.
