Altin Van Der Merwe continues to have a great summer.
Van Der Merwe was the medalist in the stroke play portion of the Kwazulu-Natal Amateur and then went on to win the match play portion to win the championship.
Van Der Merwe shot 10-under for the 36-hole stroke play to win medalist honors. He shot a 7-under 64 in the first round to jump out to the lead. Only four golfers finished under par in the stroke play portion.
Van Der Merwe then got all the way to the finals of the match play portion and beat Simon Du Plooy 4 & 3 to win the championship.
Van Der Merwe won the Western Province Amateur and the Boland Amateur Stroke Play. He also finished second in the Scottish Open Amateur Stroke Play.
