Aidan Hagan wins North of England Open Amateur Championship

Hagan got off to a slow start but stellar second and third rounds secured him the win.

Aidan Hagan, a sophomore at the University of Washington, shot 7-under to win the North of England Open Amateur Championship at Seaton Carew Golf Club in England.

Hagan, a member at Old Course Ranfurly in Scotland, shot rounds of 74-67-66-70 to win by a two-shot margin over Lucas Martin of Rotherham, who shot rounds of 72-72-67-68 to finish as the runners-up at 5-under.

Hagan entered the final round tied for the lead with Josh Berry of Dancaster at 9-under. He then secured his victory with a final round score of 1-under 70, which featured five birdies and three bogeys.

Meanwhile, Berry finished tied for third place with a total score of 3-under, posting rounds of 71-67-69-74, sharing the spot with Jake Wallis of Garforth.

The tournament attracted 90 amateur participants, with 32 successfully making it past the halfway cut, which was set at 8-over par.
