Dale Swartwood of San Diego captured the 3rd Annual FCG Tournament of Champions at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course, finishing at 10-under-par 206 after rounds of 69-66-71. Played on the scenic North County San Diego layout overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Future Champions Golf event attracted many of the top junior players from across the United States and around the world. Swartwood held off a late challenge from Mexico's Sebastian Montemayor to secure a two-shot victory.
Swartwood's tournament was powered by aggressive scoring throughout the week. He recorded 11 birdies and three eagles over 54 holes, ranking among the event leaders in total par breakers. After opening with a 3-under 69, he seized control with a second-round 66 before closing with an even-par back nine in the final round to finish at double digits under par.
