Charleston mid-amateur Connor Doyal fires 67 to rally past the field and win the Terra Cotta Invitational at 12-under.
Connor Doyal delivered a clutch final-round performance on Saturday, firing a 3-under 67 to claim the title at the Terra Cotta Invitational at 12-under par at Naples National Golf Club.
The Charleston, South Carolina mid-amateur entered the final round two shots off the lead but surged past a stacked leaderboard with steady play and timely scoring, closing with rounds of 70-67-67 for a three-day total of 204.
Dawson Lew of Canada finished solo second at 11-under (205) after a final-round 68, while second-round co-leaders Guiseppe Puebla and Parker Bell each posted 71 on Saturday to finish tied for third at 10-under.
Doyal’s victory marks one of the biggest wins of his amateur career and continues a strong run of form. Currently ranked No. 659 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, he has now recorded multiple wins and a growing list of top-10 finishes against elite competition.
The win builds on momentum from his 2025 South Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship title, where he showcased a similar ability to close under pressure. Known for his aggressive decision-making, Doyal has proven he can separate late in tournaments—something he did again this week at Naples National.
Behind the leaders, a group tied for fifth at 9-under included Parker Severs, who made one of the biggest moves of the final round with a 66, along with Max Emberson and Miles Eubanks.
The 30th edition of the Terra Cotta Invitational once again delivered one of the deepest fields in amateur golf, featuring 72 top players from around the world. With ideal scoring conditions throughout the week, players took advantage of a pristine Naples National layout, setting up a competitive and tightly contested finish.
In the end, it was Doyal’s consistency and closing ability that made the difference, as he captured one of the most prestigious titles on the amateur calendar.
