Cougar Classic: Ingrid Lindblad and Savannah Grewal earn co-medalist honors

In the first round, Lauren Olivares of NC State shot 11-under 60, becoming the first woman to shoot 60 in collegiate golf history.
23-year-old Ingrid Lindblad, the World No.1 ranked player in the Golfweek.com/Amateur Golf Rankings of LSU, and 21-year-old Savannah Grewal of Clemson shot a matching total of 16-under 197 to finish as the co-medalist at the Cougar Classic played at Yeamans Hall Club in Hanahan, South Carolina.
Lindblad, a record 12-time winner at LSU, entered the final round tied for the lead with Grewal. Her remarkable second-round score of 64 not only equaled the school record but marked the fifth occasion in her LSU career when she achieved that impressive feat within a single round.
Additionally, Lindblad achieved another milestone by posting an aggregate score below 200 for the second time during her LSU career, concluding with rounds of 67-64-66 for a remarkable 16-under par total of 197.
Grewal, ranked 89th on the Golfweek.com/Amateur Golf Rankings shot 68-63-66 to match Ingrid Lindblad at 16-under 197.
Her second-round score of 63 not only marked a personal best but also contributed to her impressive tally of 20 birdies, the highest among all participants in the tournament. Lindblad closely trailed with 19 birdies.

Two weeks back, Grewal participated in the LPGA & Epson Tour Q-School Stage-I in Rancho Mirage, Calif., where she shot rounds of 67-68-66-72 to finish as the joint leader with Suzuka Yamaguchi of Japan at 15-under 273.
Grewal, who graduated with a major in Health Science earlier in May, is currently taking advantage of her COVID-19 year in 2023-2024 with her fifth year on the lineup at Clemson University.
In the team format, Ole Miss secured a comfortable victory with impressive rounds of 275-270-271, totaling 36-under 816, giving them a five-shot lead over LSU, who posted scores of 274-271-276, totaling 31-under 274.
