Scenes from Pine Valley Golf Club as Stephen Behr and Tommy Brennan win their first Crump Cup titles
Crump Cup Sunday at Pine Valley was noticeably quieter this year, after the club decided to discontinue the tradition of allowing spectators to attend the final matches.
The silver lining was that the no-camera policy was waived for Sean Melia of AmateurGolf.com, who was on the grounds to witness the action. A pair of first-time champions emerged from a turbulent day that featured two weather delays: Stephen Behr, Jr. of Alpharetta, Ga. and Tommy Brennan of Covington, La.
Behr, Jr. defeated Jimmy Ellis of Venetia, Pa., 3 and 2 in the championship match, while Brennan went to the 19th hole to edge out Mike McCoy of Norwalk, Iowa.
