In winning last year's championship, Schaake made a little history by becoming the first junior to win the Nebraska Amateur since in over a decade.
This year he made more history, becoming the 8th player to win back-to-back championships. His final round of 65 set a record, and his total of 18-under 270 was the second-lowest 72-hole total ever at this event.
Like last year, the University of Iowa golfer carried a four shot lead into the final round. But unlike last year when he saw his lead evaporate before winning on the final hole, Schaake put the field away after birdies on the 7th, 8th, and 10th extended his lead to eight shots. An impressive win for @alex_schaake.
