The Dogwood Invitational, established in 1941, is one of amateur golf's premier events, bringing 90 of the nation's top amateurs to historic Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta for 72 holes of stroke play. The tournament maintains Category B status in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, placing it among the top 150 men's events worldwide and offering a prestigious stage where past champions include PGA Tour winners Webb Simpson, Brian Harman, and Hudson Swafford.

The field is created via invitation only and supplemented with an 18-hole open qualifier during tournament week. To participate in the qualifier, golfers must have a USGA Handicap Index of 7.0 or lower.
