About the tournament

A WAGR-ranked event, the National Links Trust Championship is open exclusively to public-access golfers age 25 and over, with men's and women's divisions. Men must have a USGA Handicap Index of 8.0 or less and women 12.0 or less. The Championship is limited to 78 players and contested over 54 holes of individual stroke play, 18 holes per day. Aligning with NLT's commitment to accessibility in golf, the entry fee is affordable and stipends are provided to traveling players.

After three editions at East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, DC, the 2026 Championship is played at Northwest Golf Course in Silver Spring, Maryland. A series of 18-hole qualifying tournaments is held around the country at public facilities ahead of the championship.
