Walicki wins Southern Arizona Amateur

Former pro comes from three behind to win title by two

MARANA, Ariz. (August 24, 2014) — Trailing after the first round by three shots, Adam Walicki, a former professional golfer, shot two-under par 70 at Gallery Golf Club on Sunday to come from behind and win the Southern Arizona Amateur by two shots. Walicki shot a bogey-free 66 on Saturday, but sat three strokes back of Rusty Brown, who blitzed the field with a 63. Brown, however, shot 77 on Sunday and dropped significantly into a tie for fourth, four strokes behind Walicki. The low round of the day went to Jeremy Defalco, who shot 66 and into second place overall. Walicki recently advanced into the semifinals of the Arizona Amateur, losing to the eventual winner Alex McMahon.
