Viboch and Wagner were one of three teams to post 7-under 65 at Lone Tree Golf Course in the opening round. Two other teams opened with 66. But the pair combined for the best round of the day on Sunday to clip two teams by two shots. Scott Watson and Chris Johnson and Bobby Bucey and Domingo Jojola finished the tournament with identical splits of 66-64.
Interestingly, Viboch and Bucey paired up to medal in stroke-play qualifying at the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball last spring. The two also won the 2016 NCGA Four-Ball Championship.
In the senior division, first-round leaders Gary Vanier and Randy Haag won the title with a second-round 66 for a two-shot victory over local legend Bob Olds and Tony McBroom. Doc Miller and Terry Foreman took third place.
Haag is just a few days removed from dueling Jeff Wilson at the California Senior Amateur, only to finish second.
