LIBERTY CORNER, N.J. (Aug. 26, 2025) – The United States Golf Association has finalized the six players who will represent the USA at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships (WATC), set for Oct. 1–4 (women) and Oct. 8–11 (men) at Tanah Merah Country Club’s Tampines Course in Singapore.
Women’s Team: Espirito Santo Trophy
The three-player U.S. Women’s Team features Megha Ganne (Holmdel, N.J.), Farah O’Keefe (Austin, Texas), and Kiara Romero (San Jose, Calif.).
- Megha Ganne, 21, the newly crowned U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, is ranked No. 4 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking®. The Stanford senior has represented the USA in the Curtis Cup, earned low-amateur honors at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open, and helped lead Stanford to the 2024 NCAA title.
- Kiara Romero, 19, secured her spot as the 2025 McCormack Medal winner and world’s top-ranked amateur. The Oregon junior is the 2023 U.S. Girls’ Junior champion, a two-time All-American, and recorded the lowest final-round score by an amateur in U.S. Women’s Open history with a Sunday 67 at Erin Hills.
- Farah O’Keefe, 20, earned her place through the USGA Team Selection Committee. The Texas standout is a past Women’s Western Amateur champion, two-time Big 12 award-winner, and represented the USA in the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup.
Kendra Graham, longtime USGA official and former Executive Committee member, will captain the women’s side. “Megha, Farah and Kiara are three of the top women amateurs in the world,” Graham said. “We are extremely excited, honored and proud to have them represent the United States.”
Alternates: Catherine Park (Irvine, Calif.) and Anna Davis (Spring Valley, Calif.).
Men’s Team: Eisenhower Trophy
The men’s roster features Ethan Fang (Plano, Texas), Mason Howell (Thomasville, Ga.), and Preston Stout (Dallas, Texas).
- Mason Howell, 18, earned his spot with a breakout summer that included winning the U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Club, qualifying for the U.S. Open with a pair of 63s, and medalist honors at the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur.
- Ethan Fang, 20, became the first American in 18 years to capture The Amateur Championship, defeating Ireland’s Gavin Tiernan at Royal St George’s. The Oklahoma State junior also helped the Cowboys secure the 2025 NCAA title.
- Preston Stout, 21, captured the 2025 Northeast Amateur by eight shots, owns back-to-back Big 12 individual titles, and helped OSU to the NCAA crown. He will also join Fang and Howell on the U.S. Walker Cup team next weekend at Cypress Point.
The men’s squad will be captained by Stu Francis, past USGA president and longtime championship committee chair. “We are all very proud of Mason, Ethan and Preston for their accomplishments both on and off the course,” Francis said. “I look forward to an exciting championship with our team of three outstanding amateurs.”
Alternates: Tommy Morrison (Dallas, Texas) and Miles Russell (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.).
Coaching and Championship Format
Both U.S. teams will be guided by Chris Zambri, head coach of the U.S. National Development Program. “This country boasts an incredible depth of golf talent, and I look forward to seeing how our teams stack up against the world’s best,” Zambri said.
The World Amateur Team Championships, conducted by the International Golf Federation, are 72-hole stroke-play competitions. Each day, the two lowest scores from a three-player team count toward the team total. The women compete for the Espirito Santo Trophy, while the men play for the Eisenhower Trophy.
In 2023, Korea captured its fourth Espirito Santo title in Abu Dhabi, while the U.S. men earned their 14th Eisenhower Trophy. The Singapore Golf Association will host this year’s edition.
