Two Teams pace Cravens Invitational Qualifying

Jim Kinsel and Keith Morris of Oakmont and Ethan Falk and Glenn Wedeen (San Gabriel) are tied at 68 in the alternate shot event

SAN GABRIEL, Calif. (May 17, 2017) -- The three day Cravens Invitational began Wednesday under perfect Southern California weather. The teams of Jim Kinsel and Keith Morris of Oakmont and Ethan Falk and Glenn Wedeen (San Gabriel) were able to take advantage of the conditions (and let's be honest, May is a pretty good time of year in the Golden State) to score alternate shot rounds of Net 68 over San Gabriel Country Club's tournament ready layout.

Three teams--Jeff Hart and Doug Neary of Shady Canyon, Leo Alonzo/Butch Nungesser and Donald McWhirter/Benjamin Stoney of the host club San Gabriel--shot net 69s.

The top 16 teams advanced to the Championship match play bracket. Six teams who shot 71 played off for the final five spots. All of the other teams were flighted by score into match play brackets for the weekend.
