ATLANTA, Georgia (July 1, 2015) -- Ashton Van Horne and Shad Tuten went to "work" (if you can call it that) at the Dogwood Invitational today. Between the two of them, they recorded 16 birdies and not a single bogey at Druid Hills Golf Club. Pretty amazing. Van Horne, from Georgetown, Kentucky, did what you might expect on a course of 6860 yards -- he birdied all four of the par 5s, kind of the way a Tour player picks the course apart. Once you've knocked down those four holes, (including the longest one, the 579-yard 18th) the other four birdies don't seem so impossible. The Belmont University (Nashville) junior also birdied three in a row, Nos. 12-14. Tuten, who resides in Elberton, Georgia and plays for Savannah's Armstrong State, "only" birdied two of the par 5s, but he made up for it with four birdies on the par 4s and a couple of tweets on the par 3s. As low as their numbers are, the pair is chased by an amazing 34 players who shot 3-under 69 or better. So they better keep the birdies coming. At 65, just a shot back of the lead, are Matthew Perrine and Zack Jaworksi.
