Texas Shootout: North Team runs away with the win

The North team defeated the South Team 42.5-29.5 to close out the TGA Championship season.

Needing only 12 points to win, the North Team continued their strong play into Sunday morning’s singles matches. The North team secured 18 points during Sunday’s singles session to win the Texas Shootout.

After Day One of the Texas Shootout at Galveston Country Club, the North team holds a 24.5-11.5 lead.

The Saturday morning Foursomes session saw the North team win 10-8, making for an important afternoon session of Four-Ball.

The mid-amateurs from the North secured 6.5 points, while the seniors tallied 3.5 points. The South Team’s mid-amateurs scored 5.5 points, while their seniors scored 2.5 points.

In the afternoon session, the North team beat the South Team 14 1/2-3 1/2 to open up its lead to 24.5-11.5 entering the Sunday Singles.

The Texas Shootout was started in 2003 and ends the TGA's championship schedule for the year.
