Taylor Bromley edges Zander Nichols to win Tulare County Amateur

Former San Jose State standout holds steady with back-to-back 71s to secure one-shot victory in Visalia

Taylor Bromley of Turlock, Calif., carded rounds of 71-71 to finish at 2-under 142 and claim the Tulare County Amateur Championship at Oak Valley Golf Course in Visalia, California.

Bromley, a graduate from San Jose State’s class of 2017, entered the final round tied for the lead with Zander Nichols of Clovis, Calif., and stayed composed down the stretch. His closing 71 proved enough to separate the two, as Nichols finished runner-up at 1-under 143 (71-72).

The two players were level after 18 holes, but Bromley’s consistency across both rounds ultimately made the difference in a tightly contested finish.

Currently working as a caddie at Mossy Oak Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi, Bromley has competed sparingly in recent years. His last notable start came at the 2023 Northern California Public Links Championship, where he finished tied for sixth.

Defending champion Michael Jura III did not compete this year.
