Bradenton’s William Lisle claimed the biggest win of his young career, defeating Colombia’s Tomas Restrepo in a dramatic three-hole playoff to capture the Sunshine State Amateur at Mission Resort + Club.
Lisle, a Hong Kong native and IMG Academy standout who is verbally committed to the University of Texas at Austin, carded rounds of 70-66-71 to reach 8-under 207. Restrepo — committed to the University of Mississippi for 2026 — matched him with rounds of 67-68-72 to set up a playoff on the famed El Campeon course.
Lisle began the final round one behind Restrepo and posted a composed 71 to pull even. In the playoff, the pair traded pars on the first two extra holes, playing the demanding 18th twice. The duel moved to the par-5 1st for the third playoff hole, where both players delivered perfect drives down the right side.
Lisle laid up just short of the green and calmly got up-and-down for birdie. Restrepo’s second shot finished tight against a tree, forcing an unplayable. His bogey sealed Lisle’s victory.
West Florida freshman Ethan Weinberg finished solo third at 5-under 210 with rounds of 67-71-72.
Players competed on El Campeon (par 72) in rounds one and three, and Las Colinas (par 71) in round two.
Lisle’s win caps a strong season that already included a win at the FSGA Jr. Boys Championship in the 13-15 age Division, a runner-up finish at the Florida Junior Amateur and a Round-of-64 appearance at the U.S. Junior Amateur.
