Longtime friends Steve Sear and Randy Haag delivered another dominant performance to defend their title at the NCGA Senior Four-Ball Championship, posting 18-under 195 (64-66-65) for a five-shot victory at Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach.
The pair, who have competed against each other for more than four decades, closed with a 6-under 65 to pull clear of the field and successfully repeat their 2025 triumph.
Todd Doss and Corey West finished runner-up at 13-under 200 (67-66-67), while Bob Niger and Bill Bunce placed third at 12-under 201 (70-63-68).
Former champions Mark Morgan and Mike Rowley, winners in 2021 and 2023, finished T-10 at 5-under 208 (69-70-69).
The victory added another chapter to Haag’s remarkable history in the event. He now holds a record six titles, winning three times with Mark Lutz (2016, 2017, 2024), once with Robert Funk (2022), and twice with Sear (2025, 2026). Haag and Lutz also share the record for most titles by a team with three, alongside Robert Berg and Rob Thompson.
In the Super Senior division, it was a family moment as Jim and Doug Williams claimed the title at 10-under 203 (69-67-67). Doug sealed the win with a 15-foot birdie on the 18th, edging Dean Prince and John Jaramillo, who finished one shot back at 9-under 204 (67-68-69).
Two teams shared third at 8-under 205 — Defending champions Craig Calkins and David Ujihara (68-69-68) and Neil Robinson and Steve Hoyt (68-68-69).
Sear and Haag’s winning total fell short of their own tournament record of 21-under 192 set in 2025, but once again proved more than enough to separate them from the field.
