Spring Hill Senior Classic: Tim Weinhart comes from behind to win by one

Georgia Hall of Fame inductee Weinhart wins behind a final round 4-under 68

54-year-old Tim Weinhart, a pro on the Champions Tour carded two consecutive rounds of 4-under 68 to win the Spring Hill Senior Classic by a shot at Spring Hill in Tifton, Ga.

Weinhart’s total score of 8-under was just enough to keep Sonny Skinner, a two-time winner on the Nike Tour, now known as the Korn Ferry Tour, from winning. Skinner shot rounds of 65-72 to finish runner-up at 7-under.

Weinhart runs a golf academy at Heritage Golf Links on the outskirts of Atlanta and was inducted into the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame in late 2020.

Todd Ormsby, a Head Golf Pro at Highland Country Club, carded rounds of 68-74 to register a third-place finish at a total score of 2-under par.

The PGA Georgia Section Senior Division administers the tournament, which saw participation from 17 senior pros and 23 senior amateurs, taking the total number of participants to 40.
