SOS Masters: Goolsby, Hudson share lead

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (April 8, 2014) -- Rick Goolsby and Steve Hudson fired first-round 70s and share the lead at the 2014 Society of Seniors Masters at Indian Wells Golf Resort. Playing on the Celebrity Course at the resort, Goolsby of Fullerton, Calif. and Birmingham, Ala.'s Hudson are one shot ahead of Jerry Hudgins and Richard Hageman, who are tied for third place. Chris Maletis, Rich Tolly, Richard Alarid and Steven Hakes are all tied for fifth after first-round 72s. In the Super Senior division, John Richart and Ted Smith share the lead. Both players shot first-round 71s and are a shot better than David Crocker, Jim Holtgrieve and John Walker, who all shot 72 in Monday's Round 1. The 54-hole invitational stroke play event requires some stamina to contend against a huge field at this 36 hole facility. The annual event attracts great senior players from all over the country.
