SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (March 9, 2014) -- Casie Cathrea won her second straight San Francisco City Championship women's Sunday with an impressive 10-and-9 victory over Anna Zhou at Presidio Golf Course.
Cathrea, a standout high school player from Livermore, who recently departed from Oklahoma State to focus on her game full-time in preparation to turn professional in the fall, simply rolled through the competition in winning her second straight crown.
Following her bye into the match-play portion of the event, Cathrea won 3-and-1 over Madeline Bong, 2-up over Kathleen Scavo, 4-and-3 over Mabel Wong and 1-up over No. 4 Elizabeth Schultz in Saturday's semifinal.
She saved her best performance for Sunday's finale.
Cathrea led 3-up after the first 18 holes and then put on the press.
