SANDWICH, England (June 26, 2014) --There are four left standing at the Ladies British Amateur, but none of them are British. Emily Pedersen of Denmark, Jenny Haglund of Sweden, Marion Veysseyre of France, and Leslie Cloots of Belgium are the semifinalists set to play on Saturday. Pedersen defeated Gemma Dryburgh of Scotland 2-up in the round of 16, and England’s Alice Hewson 4&3 in the quarterfinals to secure a semifinal berth. Haglund took down Sarah Schober 2&1 in the morning, and Noemi Jimenez 3&2 in the afternoon quarterfinal match. Veysseyre beat Leonie Harm 4&3 and Anne Van Dam of the Netherlands 2&1 to set up her semifinals match. Finally, Leslie Cloots took the longest road to the semis after two hard fought matches on Friday. After winning 2-up against Elodie Bridenne in the round of 16, she had to go 19 holes against Antonia Scherer to end the match. Pedersen and Haglund will face off on Saturday morning for a finals berth, while Veysseyre and Cloots will be the other match to determine the finalists.
