CHARLESTON, SC (May 15, 2016) - On Sunday Scott Usher finished off a wire-to-wire win at the Charleston City Amateur. Usher finished the 54-hole event 8-under and six shots clear of the rest of the field at Charleston Municipal Golf Course.
A former mini-tour player and USC-Aiken star, Usher, opened up a three-stroke first round lead on Friday thanks to an opening 8-under 64 and after a second round 2-under 70 he was 10-under and ahead by six.
In the final round Usher did struggle a bit shooting a 2-over 74 but his lead to start the day was to large for the rest of the field to make a charge. Three players --Thomas Ellenburg, Patrick Mallard and Gettys Glaze-- all finished 2-under and tied for second
