Alex Rodger made his opening-round cushion count, posting rounds of 64-74 to win the 26th Ohio Metropolitan Mid-Amateur Championship by four shots at Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Ky.
Rodger, a Cincinnati attorney and Maketewah Country Club member, took control with a tournament-low 8-under 64 in the opening round. His four-shot advantage gave him room to work with on Sunday, and a closing 74 was enough to secure the title at 6-under 138.
