Robert Funk carded the lone round in red numbers at the 2025 San Francisco City Senior Men's Championship stroke play qualifying round at TPC Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco, Calif.
Funk, a native of Canyon Lake, Calif., shot a 1-under 71 to win medalist honors. He recorded three birdies and two bogeys, including a birdie on the first hole.
Daniel O'Connor finished in solo second place at 1-over, and Stephen Sear, Mark Sanchez, and Jeff Heitt all shot 2-over to round out the top five in the qualifying round.
Funk is currently ranked No. 26 in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings.
The California native has put together an impressive amateur resume, winning low amateur honors at the 2017 U.S. Senior Open and finishing runner-up at the 2017 Kelly Cup. He is also a five-time qualifier for the U.S. Mid-Amateur, winner of the 2006 Trans-Miss Amateur, and two-time winner of the Southern California Mid-Amateur in 2006 and 2013.
After the 18-hole qualifying round, the top 32 finishers now advance to match play, starting on Wednesday, March 19. All rounds will be played at TPC Harding Park.Senior Men's Championship Schedule:
