The Illinois-based team of John Ramsey (Glenview, Ill.) and
Chadd Slutzky (Deer Park, Ill.) took home the top prize in the
Mid Pines Invitational with a 13-under par score of 131 at Mid Pines Golf Club
in Southern Pines, North Carolina. This was Ramsey and Slutzky’s first win in the Mid Pines
Invitational after finishing as the runners-up last year.
2018 champions Scott Campbell (Wake Forest, N.C.) and Tim Driver (Holly Springs, N.C.) came in second with a 10-under par total of 134. Matthew Crenshaw (Burlington, N.C.) and Thomas Owens (Fayetteville, N.C.) finished in third place with a score 8-under par score of 136.
The Tennessee team of Stuart Smith (Nashville, Tenn.) and Bryan Rodgers (Knoxville, Tenn.) won the Senior Division over
Johnny Elam (Charlotte, N.C.) and Rick Cloninger (Atlanta, Ga.) on the 3rd hole of a sudden death
playoff. Both teams finished with a 9-under par score of 135 and this was the first victory for Smith and
Rodgers at Mid Pines. Allan Strange (Richmond, Va.) and Macon Moye (Southern Pines, N.C.) finished in
third place with an 8-under par score of 136.
A field of 126 amateur golfers from 12 states teed off in the 21st edition of the two-man four-ball tournament at the classic Donald Ross design.
The 21st Annual Mid Pines Invitational is scheduled for February 5-7, 2021.
