"I told myself I'm not doing this again. I was so close last year and I didn't finish the round very well. I'm just very happy to finally win this tournament and a CGA (Carolinas Golf Association) junior championship" said the Asheville native. Kuehn's second round of two under par 70 along with her first round 69 tied the championship scoring record of five under par 139.
Kuehn started her second round birdieing four of her first eight holes, but three bogeys in the middle part of the round brought the field back in to play. "I got off to a great start, but hit a rough patch in the middle" said Kuehn. After a bogey on the par three thirteenth, Kuehn hit her second shot on the par five fourteenth to eight feet and made the putt for an eagle three. Kuehn followed up the eagle with a birdie on the par five fifteenth and coasted home to a three shot victory.
