Alameda, Calif. (April 22, 2012) -- Anders Engell, a senior at St. Marys College by way of Olso, Norway, carded a pair of 67's this weekend to lead the Alameda Commuters Championship being held at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex in Alameda, Calif.Five time champion Rick Reinsberg signed for a 65, the low round of the tournament, and is one stroke back of Engell with 70-65--135 heading into the final two rounds next weekend.Veteran Darryl Donovan is just two strokes back after carding rounds of 70-66--136. Donovan is coming off a strong second place finish at the Whisper Rock Invitational and a big win earlier in the year at the Florida Azalea Amateur. Donovan is also a past champion at the Alameda Commuters with back-to-back victories in 2000 and 2001. Michael Weaver, a redshirt Junior at Cal, joins Donavon in third place with rounds of 69-67--136. Weaver most recently qualified for the Nationwide Tour event at Stonebrae where he posted 72-75--147, missing the cut by four strokes.The cut fell at 145 with 47 players qualifing to play next Saturday and Sunday for the championship.
