Derron Peyton grabbed a first round lead on Saturday and then closed the deal on Sunday winning the Palm Beach Stroke Play

VERO BEACH, FL (May 15, 2016) - Derron Peyton grabbed a first round lead on Saturday and then closed the deal on Sunday winning the Palm Beach Stroke Play. Peyton fired rounds of 68-70 to post 6-under and win by three-strokes at Quail Valley Golf Club. Peyton fresh off his senior season at Florida Atlantic took a first round lead with an opening 4-under 68. In Saturday's opening round Peyton carded five birdies, an eagle on the par-5 14th and three bogeys. The Boynton Beach resident continued his strong play during his 2-under 70 final round as Peyton recorded four birdies and just two bogeys. Robbie Wight (West Palm Beach) finished second at 3-under while Dan Barnard (Hobe Sound) and Justin Goodhue (Palm Beach Gardens) were 2-under and tied for third. Jackson Shoenfelt (Boynton Beach) was the final player under-par at 1-under and in fifth place.
