Behind Nottingham, Brock Ochsenreiter of Nashville is in solo second at 5 under. The excitement in his day came at the par-5 18th, where Ochsenreiter made eagle.
Maxwell is tied for third with Brayden Garrison at 4 under.
Six-time Tennessee Amateur champion Tim Jackson had a 2-under 70 on Wednesday to get to 2 under for the tournament and into a tie for sixth. Jackson is now only four off the lead.
Notable names down the leaderboard include Whit Turnbow, the former head golf coach at Middle Tennessee State who recently was announced as the next Tennessee Golf Foundation president. He had rounds of 75-70 to get to 1 over and a tie for 14th. Buzz Fly, a longtime Tennessee amateur standout, is one behind that in a tie for 19th.
