Nic Brown stays consistent to pull away with North Carolina Mid-Amateur

Brown was one of two golfers who finished with all three rounds under par to secure the wire-to-wire win

Nic Brown shot rounds of 67-69-68 to finish 12-under and win the 2024 North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship at River Landing Golf Club in Wallace, N.C., by four shots.

“I drove the ball really well," Brown told the Carolinas Golf Association. "There’s a good mix of holes out here. You have to hit the driver on some, and you have to hit irons on others. I was able to hit a lot of fairways, which was really important out here to avoid the rough.”

Brown shot 4-under 68 in the final round to finish at 12-under for the tournament, securing the win by four strokes.

Brown was one of two golfers who finished with all three rounds under par. Only seven golfers finished under par for the championship, while Brown got it all the way to 12-under.

“I felt really good this weekend," Brown added, "This is my first official mid-amateur event; the mid-ams are always nice, and it’s a little more relaxed out here. I just had fun; I’m glad to not be working, and it was fun to play golf instead."

Brandon Grzywacz finished in solo second place at 8-under, and Jackson Spires finished in solo third place at 5-under. Jacob Johnson finished in solo fourth place at 4-under, and Harrison Rhoades and Paul Huber finished T5 at 3-under.
