Moody logs six-shot victory at Gate Petroleum Senior Amateur

Ken Moody kept the big numbers off his card at Ponte Vedra Inn's Ocean Course.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 13, 2018) – Ken Moody ran away with the Gate Petroleum Senior Amateur title on Wednesday after rounds of 71-75-75 at Ponte Vedra Inn’s Ocean Course left him six shots ahead of the next closest player.

Moody had just two birdies in his final-round 75, but he minimized the big numbers for the week – his sole double bogey came in the first round – to pull away from the field.

Bill Dahlenburg was second with rounds of 74-79-74. Dahlenburg was even after 15 holes in his final round, but made two bogeys coming in to fall to 74 and a little farther off Moody’s pace.

Defending champion David Anthony was third just one shot behind Dahlenburg. In addition to last year’s Gate Senior title, the Jacksonville, Fla., resident also won this year’s Florida Azalea Senior title.

Two players tied for fourth at 15 over, including Martin Hochberg and Keith Nagy.
