Missouri Senior Amateur: Sean McQueary Wins the Championship by one shot

A final round 4-under 71 helped propel McQueary to the top of the leaderboard on the last day.

The 34th annual Senior Amateur Championship concluded at Algonquin Golf Club in St. Louis. A total of 119 male golfers aged 50 or older competed in two rounds of stroke play for the championship title.

In the Championship division, Sean McQueary of Springfield shot the lowest score of the tournament in today’s round to move up the leaderboard into solo first place. He finished at 3-under with rounds of 72 and 67. Tom Barry of St. Louis was the runner-up, shooting 2-under with rounds of 71 and 69, and Christian Corpe of Lake Ozark finished in third place at 1-under with rounds of 72 and 69.

Don Kuehn of Kansas City was the champion of the Super Senior division at 1-under with rounds of 73 and 68 while John Bailey of Nashville had two consistent rounds to take second place with a score of 3-over. Robert Trittler of Wentzville and Tom Leonard of Leawood tied for third place, both shooting 9-over.

Terry Souchek of Columbia won the Net division at 10-over. Arnold Bailey of Linn had a great second round to move into second place at 11-over, and Marvin Frazier of Festus finished in third place with a score of 12-over.
