HIGHLAND, MI (June 15, 2016) -- Michigan Golf Hall of Famer and multiple time Golf Association of Michigan Player of the Year Tom Werkmeister is in second place following three rounds at the Michigan Open. Werkmeister has put together rounds of 70-69-69 and is presently 8-under and two shots behind leader Jeff Bronkema at the Prestwick Village Golf Club.
In his third round Werkmeister registered a five birdie, two bogey performance. His birdies came on the 1st, 6th, 10th, 13th and 14th holes.
Leader Jeff Bronkema has reached 10-under with three day scores of 71-69-66. His bogey-free 6-under scorecard matched the second lowest round of the tournament and also featured birdies on five consecutive holes from 13-17.
Recent Oakland University (MI) graduate and golfer Evan Bowser is tied for fourth at 6-under.
