University of San Francisco golfer Cory McElyea continues playing well, winning the Monterey City Amateur by five shots.

MONTEREY, Calif. (June 30, 2013) — Fresh off winning the California State Amateur, Cory McElyea stayed hot, winning the Monterey City Amateur at Del Monte Golf Course on Sunday. The University of San Francisco senior shot 69-66-70 to win the championship by five strokes. Perennial northern California amateur player Casey Boyns finished in a three-way tie for second place at a three-round total of 210, along with Jack Mulroy and Cody Robinson. Boyns had the low round of the tournament, shooting 65 on Saturday. McElyea has had a nice stretch lately, playing in the U.S Open before winning both the California State Amateur and the Monterey City.
