McCoy and Wagner top world-class field at Seminole Pro-Member

Jack Nicklaus, Rory McIlroy, Ernie Els, Beth Daniel and many others teed it up with top ams including 5 Walker Cup captains

John T. McCoy teamed up with tour pro Johnson Wagner to win the prestigious Seminole Pro-Member at Seminole Golf Club, by one shot with a 64 on the famed Donald Ross layout.

The two edged the teams of Carlton Forrester / Matt Kuchar and Robert Long III / Richy Werenski who had rounds of 65.

McCoy and Wagner also won the Net competition with a 61 but as they could only win one prize, the Net award went to Christie Flanagan and Carlos Ortiz, who had a net 62.

Last year's winners, Mike McCoy and Cameron Tringale, shot a 71 to finish T34 in the field of 96 teams.

Former Walker Cupper Rickie Fowler teamed up with former Walker Cup player and captain Buddy Marucci to shoot 69 (T15), while Rory McIlroy teamed up with his father Gerry to shoot 70 (T26).

Nick Price was the low senior, teaming with Kelly Miller for a 69 (T15), tied with among others, the low woman professional Jaye Marie Green who paired with Rich Druckner.

The field at Seminole might have been more interesting than the field for the Honda Classic, which ended the day before the event. It included Hall of Famers including Jack Nicklaus (who just turned 80), Nick Faldo, Ernie Els and Beth Daniel; top pros like Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson and Jessica Korda; and Walker Cup captains Buddy Marucci, Spider Miller, Nathaniel Crosby, Vinny Giles and Danny Yates.
