Connecticut Women's Amateur: Jordan Levitt rallies from nine back to claim the title

Jordan Levitt of Rockrimmon Country Club overcame a nine-shot deficit to win the 61st Connecticut Women's Amateur Championship at Torrington Country Club, posting rounds of 80-73-78 for a 15-over 231 total. The Notre Dame standout capitalized on 36-hole leader Maddie Chang's final-round collapse—an 83 that included a quintuple-bogey 7 on the par-3 fifth hole and a double-bogey 6 on the 18th. Chang, who led by four entering the day, finished tied for second at 16-over 232 alongside Zorah Williams of Stonington Country Club.

Levitt's closing 78 featured a strong start with birdies on Nos. 4 and 6, and she steadied down the stretch to hold off the field despite a bogey-double finish. Levitt is coming off a 2025 season in which she qualified and competed in both the U.S. Girls' Junior and the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships. She was also the winner of the 2025 AJGA Punta Gorda Open.

Maddie Chang of Ridgefield Golf Course will take a four-shot lead into Wednesday's final round of the 61st Connecticut Women's Amateur at Torrington Country Club after surviving a difficult second round. Chang, who opened with a 1-under 71, followed with a 6-over 78 but still stretched her advantage to 5-over par through 36 holes with 18 holes remaining.

Chang was 6-over through her first 12 holes before steadying herself with a birdie on the par-4 13th and playing her final six holes in even par. Notre Dame standout Jordan Levitt of Rockrimmon Country Club is second at 9-over, followed by Mia Rodgers (Fairfield CC) at 10-over, 2023 champion Arabella Lopez (Redding CC) at 11-over and Zorah Williams (Stonington CC) at 12-over. "Tomorrow I'm going to try and not focus on the leaderboard or my playing partners," Chang said. "I am just going to focus on my pre-shot routine and hitting fairways. Then hopefully some putts will drop."

In the Senior Division, Mercedes Large of Wampanoag Country Club carries a three-shot lead into the final round at 13-over after a second round that included birdies on Nos. 2 and 14. Nicole Elliott (Chippanee CC) is second, with Debbie Johnson (Blackhawk CC), Jen Holland (Indian Hill CC) and Lisa Fern-Boros (Highland GC) rounding out the top five.
