It's been nearly two years since Brian Ma won the 2017 San Francisco City Championship. Now, Ma owns a Contra Costa title.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2018) – In the spring of 2017, a then-16-year-old Brian Ma got the biggest win of his young career at the San Francisco City Championship. Now, the teenager is just adding lines to his resume.

Ma, now 18, won the Contra Costa County Amateur on Sunday after going two extra holes with Luis Diaz. The two tied at 3-under 141 after 36 holes at Boundary Oak Golf Course, but Ma won on the second playoff hole.

Ma opened with even-par 72 on Saturday but followed with a 69 to make up ground. Diaz had rounds of 70-71.

Three players tied for third at 2-over 146, including Spencer Hulsey, Brent Booth and Joshua Diaz.
