SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Most Pac-12 teams will get their final tune-up before their conference championship at the Western Intercollegiate, beginning Saturday at the historic Alister MacKenzie-designed Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Before heading to Pullman, Wash. at the end of April for the Pac-12 Championship, eight teams from the conference will descend upon the always-difficult par-70 course for San Jose State's host event.
Of the eight Pac-12 teams, seven of which are inside Golfweek's Top-25 rankings, Arizona State will be the team to beat as the Sun Devils are coming off their fifth win of the Spring. Joining ASU from their conference are Stanford, California, UCLA, USC, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington.
Teams outside of the Pac-12 that are sure to contend this weekend are Texas (ranked third in the nation) as well as San Diego State and host San Jose State.
The host Spartans will be led by their standout junior Cody Blick, who has consistently been the top-finisher for his team all season, including a ninth-place finish last week at The Goodwin in Palo Alto.
