Kirsty Hodgkins Comes from behind, Wins Women's Riversdale Cup

Kirsty Hodgkins comes from seven back to win Women's Riverdale Cup over Yumi Kudo

VICTORIA, AUS (March 13, 2016)--Upon the completion of the third round it looked like Yumi Kudo was in control as she led Kirsty Hodgkins by seven strokes. However, on the final day Hodgkins (9-under) stormed back to capture the Riversdale Women's Cup at Riversdale Golf Club. Hodgkins started the final day in second place at 4-under, but made a charge on the outward nine. Hodgkins applied the pressure with four straight birdies from holes 4-7 and then picked up another on the 9th. After nine-holes Hodgkins was 5-under par and her even-par backside was enough for a one-stoke triumph. Kudo began the day at 11-under but was never able to get things started, shooting a 3-over 76. After finishing under-par the previous three days Kudo bogeyed the first hole on her way to an even-par front nine. The real trouble came on the homeward nine with a bogey on No. 14 and double bogey on No. 16. The only other player to finish under-par was Munchin Keh (5-under). Keh finished in third place. Karis Davidson (2-over) and Mone Inami (3-over) were the next closest competitors.
