Kansas women win third consecutive title in the Bahamas

Natasha Kiel of Purdue and Chantal El Chaib of Georgia finished as co-individual champions at 2-under

The Texas A&M Women's Golf Team hosted the White Sands Invitational at The Ocean Golf Club in Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Looking for their third consecutive program win, the Kansas Jayhawks fired rounds of 302-285, erasing an 11-stroke deficit after the first round. The three consecutive team titles set a new school record and marked the second time in program history with three wins in a single season.

Purdue finished second at 17-over, Baylor finished in third at 19-over, tournament host Texas A&M finished fourth at 23-over, and Missouri finished fifth at 26-over to round out the top five.

“What a tournament, what a trip, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these ladies," Kansas coach Lindsay Kuhle said. "We maintained the steady play all day long due to our exceptional ball striking and solid putting. We were strong in all areas today, including ball striking, short game, and putting, which is key on a course like this in tough conditions. We knew we had a chance to win if we had four scores under par, and that was our goal. We believed until the very end."

In the individual competition, Natasha Kiel of Purdue and Chantal El Chaib of Georgia finished as co-individual champions at 2-under. Kiel shot rounds of 68-73, and El Chaib came from behind, shooting rounds of 73-68.

BaiMai Seema of Baylor finished in solo third place at 1-over, and Lily Hirst of Kansas and Sera Hasegawa of Baylor finished T4 at 2-over to round out the top five.

The opening round of the White Sands Bahamas Fall Invitational was cut short due to heavy rain in the area. Heavy rains forced the cancelation of Friday's opening round in Paradise Island, Bahamas

The event at Ocean Club Golf Course was shortened to 18 holes of play on Saturday and Sunday, going from three rounds to two rounds.
