Kansas Junior Amateur Championship: Gellerman gets his title

Michael Gellerman fires a 7-under 63 on Wednesday to charge into the lead at the Kansas (KGA) Junior Amateur Championship

SALINA, KS (June 16, 2011) -- After years of trying, Michael Gellerman, of Sterling, has won his Championship. The three-hour rain delay did not phase this youngster, who will continue his golfing career at the University of Oklahoma. Myles Miller, of Wellington, had a closing back nine of 32, but couldn't quite close the gap to finish one behind. Gellerman fired a 7-under 63 on Wednesday to charge into the lead at the Kansas (KGA) Junior Amateur Championship. Gellerman carded an even par round 70 on Tuesday. Miller was alone in second place with scores of 68-67-135 (-5), while Joseph Lambert stands third at 70-66--136 (-4).
