The European team leads 8 1/2 to 3 1/2 after the Monday Foursomes and Fourball Sessions. The big difference came in the first session, with the Europeans winning the Foursomes 5 1/2 to 1/2 over the United States.
The Europeans got off to a fast start, with Rocio Tejeda and Andrea Revuelta defeating Irene Kim and Megan Meng 8 & 6.
Gianna Clemente and Anna Davis was a marquee grouping for the United States, but they lost to Yana Beeli and Helen Briem 3 & 2.
In the Fourball matches, the two teams split the points 3 to 3. Jasmine Koo and Anna Davis, Gianna Clemente and Yana Wilson, and Kathryn Ha and Elizabeth Rudasill earned a point for the United States while Helen Briem and Savannah De Bock, Francesca Fiorellini and Denisa Vodickova earned a point for the European Team.
Yana Wilson and Jasmine Koo both earned 1.5 points for the United States team and went 1-0-1.
Started in 2002, The PING Junior Solheim Cup is a version of The Solheim Cup for female amateurs born after 2001 and follows a similar format to the biennial event, featuring the top 12 European junior amateurs versus their United States counterparts.
